Frosty the Snowman

Frosty the Snowman

 

 

There will be plenty of snowmen decorations at our Christmas Open House.  In this picture is a toboggan that is hand painted with Frosty.  The lights are each hand painted and are made from the vintage lights that were often found in everyone's windows for the holiday season.  Each light comes with a silicone light bulb - so you're ready to go!  The jars are just a winter scene "snow globe" - don't shake though.  Detail pictures are below.

Giving gifts is really a blessing, but to give something that is hand-made is extra special.  All of my girls having been crafting along side of me in anticipation of the open house this weekend.  Featured here are some of the items Heather & Emma have worked on.  On the left are sets of 4 embellished magnetic clothespins.  These were done by Emma and are packaged to give as a gift.  They are great little magnets to hold grocery lists, to do list or a child's artwork.

 

In the middle are the all cotton dish/wash cloths that Heather has been knitting.  She has a variety of colors to choose from.  They are perfect in the kitchen or bath and wash up beautifully.  They too make a great gift for friends or neighbors.

 

On the far right are her crocheted facial scrubbies.  They are made of cotton and are a soft reusable scrubby for your face.  They work great at getting the make-up off at the end of the day.  They can be tossed in the washer in a garment bag (so as to not lose it) to clean them.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow...

 

 

 

Well, maybe not yet on the snow, but these shovels and sled just made me think of that song for the title of this post.  All of these items will be at our holiday open house this weekend!!  I'm still working on just a few more items that will also be there.  I just love to decorate my front porch as well as the indoors.  The shovels or sled would make a great accent to the front of your home.  The jumbo candy canes look great propped up by the fireplace or next to the tree.  And who doesn't like to hang stockings.  The one pictured here is a vintage sock form all decked out for Christmas.  Here's a couple of close up shots...

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

 

 

Every year Olivia (my 11 year old ) & I (Laura) try to find a new deer to add to our growing collection.  She & I have been making these Rudolph ornaments.  They are cute holding a candy cane our just simple hanging on the tree.  They would be a cute little gift for any boy or girl.  Each one is made of burlap and twigs deemed worth to become antlers (per Olivia).  You'll find these at the upcoming Christmas Open House.



Mason Jar Sewing Kits

 

 

 

Who hasn't had a button fall off and couldn't find a needle and thread?  These jars ($5.00 each) are filled with everything to quickly fix small problems.  Needles, pins, thread, scissors, thimble, buttons and a needle threader (just to name a few) are some of the goodies in each jar.  Teachers, secretaries, friends, yourself, you name it - these would be a great little gift for anyone!!  Be sure to stop by our Christmas open house (see post below for details) to check out these cuties!! 



Oh Christmas Tree...

 

 

I just love Christmas trees, don't you?  These trees are each one of a kind.  Each one is made with beautiful Christmas material, hand wrapped and sitting a top of vintage candle stick or wooden spool.  They look so cute on top of a mantel or table top.  Come out to our Open House next weekend, Nov. 21-23, to pick out the one that best fits your style.

At our Christmas Open House there will be a variety of hand-made ornaments to help you decorate your home.  There are nativities, snowmen, candy canes, and pinecones just to name a few.  We will also have many larger Christmas decorations as seen above for decorating indoors as well as outdoors!  Take a closer peek below at some of the ornaments on the tree.

Each of these vintage books have been repurposed.  The center pages have been cut out to form a pocket.  They were then lined with cardboard & designer papers.
Each book comes with the poem attached so the receiver will know it's purpose.

They make great gifts for children & adults.

We've just finished handcrafting 30 pairs of earrings made from antique silverware.  Over 15 different silverware patterns were used to fashion each pair.  Each set comes with it's own handmade gift box.  This is just one of the several items you will find at our Open House that feature Silverware being repurposed.  Check back everyday for more up-dates.
